Scotcash has recently become aware of a scam currently targeting Scotcash customers. Scammers have been contacting customers claiming to be from Scotcash, and quoting our FCA registration number as ‘confirmation’, and asking customers to make upfront payments via Money Transfer services. The scammers are leading customers to believe that the money transfers will allow them to access and release loan funds.
Some of the phone numbers associated with the scammers has been 0141 536 5019 and 0141 536 5015.
Scotcash have no affiliation or relationship with these scammers whatsoever. Scotcash have reported this to the Fraud Action Team with the Police. The incident number for this case is NFRC180802490767.
If you have been approved for a Scotcash loan, you will be asked to pay a 6% admin fee, but only after all documentation for the loan has been signed by you. This can be done by phone or in person in one of our branches. This payment will be made with your debit card as a payment – not as a bank transfer - or in cash at one of our locations.
If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from Scotcash – and it seems suspicious – please do not provide them with any personal details, and contact Scotcash with details of this call right away on 0141 276 0525.
The 6% admin fee is required by Scotcash as this covers the costs associated with producing the loan and the loan documentation. The 6% admin fee is applied to the total cost of your loan. Below are some examples of what an admin fee can look like:
|£100 Loan||£6 Admin Fee|
|£250 Loan||£15 Admin Fee|
|£375 Loan||£22.50 Admin Fee|
|£500 Loan||£30 Admin Fee|
You can check up on the process if your application by contacting us, or through our online web chat function.
