Basic Bank Accounts

If you don’t have a bank account, Scotcash may be able to open a basic bank account for you.   There are many benefits to having a bank account in your own name:

• Wages or benefits can be paid direct to your account
  
• You can choose to have the account in your own name or with a partner
  
• You will be given an ATM card which will allow you to withdraw at most cash machines
  
• You can save money by having some of your bills paid by direct debit

If you have never used a bank before, this will be the start of you building up a credit reference for yourself.  If you run your account well for a period of time, the bank could possibly upgrade you to an account which offers even better benefits, such as a debit or switch card, or even the type of account which offers more discounts on other products and services.
